DOULA! The Ultimate Birth Companion is a new 60 minute documentary-style film about the work of birth and postnatal doulas. The film intimately captures in close-up detail the practical and emotional support given to the parents by their doula at each stage of their unique birthing journey. The film includes footage of three positive, emotional and extremely moving doula-supported births (two home water births and a birth that progresses to a Caesarean section). There is also a separate section on the work of two postnatal doulas working to help the new parents’ transition to life with new babies. This screening is free of charge, and is hosted by Vicki File~ Doula and the Brantford Public Library. Please register at http://www.vickifiledoula.com/events.html The doors to the auditorium will open at 6:30 pm, with the film starting at 7pm. If you love birth and babies, have birthed babies, want babies, are expecting a baby, are considering someday having a baby, know someone who is having a baby, want to see some beautiful natural births, want to know more about Doula's or are just plain curious about this gorgeous documentary, please join us ! Babes in arms are always welcome.
